About the game

Ella Vance is invited to investigate as an independent external specialist. People have signed off on an account of events, but the records do not settle every question. You lead her inquiry, with Graham Holt available for advice.

Examine receipts, interviews, system logs, approvals, and closure files. Trace who changed a record, compare versions, and rebuild the chain of evidence before deciding what the proof can honestly support.

The danger may lie in a clean receipt, a missing signer, or a calm sentence already accepted as official. Investigation puzzles and the Audit Lens ask you to find contradictions and test claims, while chapter replays let you compare outcomes and pursue stronger findings.

People behind the approvals

The inquiry and its voices

Ella leads this investigation as an independent external specialist. Graham advises her; neither is part of VANTA's internal staff. Around them are people whose responsibilities, loyalties, and choice of words shape the record.

Ella Vance, in a dark coat over a light blouse

Independent investigator

Ella Vance

A digital-forensic auditor brought in from outside, Ella follows a claim back to the records that can support it. She leads the inquiry and owns its conclusions. Her strength is not a dramatic accusation, but a precise account of where a chain breaks and what remains unproved.

Graham Holt, in a suit and long coat

Independent adviser

Graham Holt

An assurance and compliance specialist, Graham brings practical skepticism and a long-established trust with Ella. He tests the difference between an action and the authority behind it. His advice sharpens her questions without taking the investigation, or its decisions, out of her hands.

McNeill, in a dark red jacket

VANTA contact

McNeill

McNeill invites Ella into an institution already under pressure. He needs a finding that can travel through its review channels without losing its basis. His position makes urgency real: language that keeps an operation moving may also make responsibility harder to name.

Rhea, holding her notes

Reception and intake

Rhea

Rhea works at the reception and intake boundary, where names, purposes, and signatures must be recorded correctly. She and Ella share a school connection. Her careful notes bring the people at that boundary into view when the official account begins to sound impersonal.

Sera, holding a document folder

Witness and older handoffs

Sera

Sera pays attention to who stayed in a room and who was left out of its record. Her knowledge of older handoffs puts human witnesses beside newer forms. When she speaks through Munza, listening carefully matters as much as finding the next document.

Munza, in a dark jacket

Translator

Munza

Munza works between a person's statement and the language an institution will accept. He knows that a safer translation can keep a meeting open while changing what a reader understands. He offers another perspective, not an answer that Ella can accept without testing.
